December was just around the corner and the only place I could think of to usher in the new year was VEGAS!!
Driving on my own was the deterrent, so I started exploring other Budget Options…๐ค
All suggested Greyhound would be the cheapest, which was true but I wanted to re-invent the wheel and continued looking for options.๐
Luck by Chance- best deal from Phoenix to Vegas!!
And I did re-invent the wheel…I found FlixBus..This shuttle service between Phoenix and Las Vegas was faster and cheaper than other options but will it be comfortable?
I booked tickets to find that out…๐

โIf you took a flight and for some reason landed in Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport instead of Vegas, just take the free Sky train from the Airport and get down at the last stop to board the Flix bus.

Day of Travel
I made sure I was well stocked and well-hydrated .. before indulging in dehydrating drinks at the sin city. ๐
My backpack was stuffed with
โคbottles of water,
โคsome snacks,
โคlots of warm clothes,
โคa power bank,
โคheadphones.
I reached Phoenix sky train stop well before time, took the $ 4-day pass to reach there ๐.
A budget traveler will always be a budget traveler
After reaching the place, I could not see even a single signboard about the Flix bus stop… confused, I started to wonder if am I at the correct place?
To be absolutely sure, I took a second round of the place, still no sign…
Thankfully I spotted a security person and he confirmed Flix bus does start from here and showed me the area where few people were already waiting ๐ช๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฑ…
They were already there while I was snooping around, now I had a good look at them… They were definitely budget travelers like me…Just a bag pack and water bottle, that’s it.
๐Relaxed, I took one of the seats where a bunch of guys were talking about traveling to different places…
To my astonishment, they were referring to some clinical trial companies that paid for their travels, accommodation, and all other stuff, all they had to do was be part of the clinical trial…
It was something very new to me and I thought about it for some time and then the bus arrived ๐.
On a budget journey
Everyone stood in a queue and the boarding process started.
This being budget travel, I did not book a seat but hoped for a window seat… and I got one…๐บ
The bus started on time, I stretched my legs and gazed out of the window…. at the desert, cactus…๐ต๐ต
While enjoying the scenic beauty of Arizona, I dozed off ๐ด…
Not sure how long I slept but got up as the bus took a halt and people were getting down.
I also got down and bought some burgers, water, and back on the bus.๐๐ฒ
Budget Travel Tip:
Install McDonald’s app and enjoy the discounts at all the outlets
I did not try the bus wi-fi so I cannot comment on it but don’t remember anyone complaining about it.
Destination- End of Budget Travel
After one more stop, We reached our destination as per schedule.
Since it was new year’s eve, all the roads to the strip were closed. The bus dropped me at Fremont street.
